Content Update – Mikael Floysand Interview

Just finished an interview with Mikael Floysand, a sharp graphic designer from Bergen in Norway. Check issue 3 for his interview, featuring “goat slaughtering, art school, and lasting impressions”

Content Update – Jope Cover

Jope has just finished an amazing cover in biro for issue 3. It’s so complex it hurts. For an idea of the style see the sketch below, which he used as a test. Imagine the complexity and style multiplied by 10 and you might be getting somewhere close. Thanks Jope.

Issue 3 Content Update – Asa Sporbert

In readiness for issue 3 we’ve got a sweet wallpaper collab lined up with one of its featured artists, Asa Sporbert. His work appeared in issue 1 as a feature called Ikonoklastik (see below). He hasn’t lost any of that psychadelic flavour, lots of which will be on display in issue 3. For the wallpaper he’s created Tunnel Vision, an ‘all seeing eye’ to rock on your desktop.

Make sure you grab the download from our homepage when issue 3 is released.

Site Unseen – The Strange New Times

A free independent B+W zine available in print or online.

It’s a UK-based publication with art, music, skateboarding, snowboarding and much more besides. Cheers to editor Nick for letting us know about it.

You can read it at theSNT

Site Unseen – Skate[Slate]

If you’re yet to catch the longboard bug then this site might act as a vector for infection. Great news, gear, riders, events and vids from the US. There’s some serious shit going down in the contests these days. Check out Kyle Chin (below) during his run in the recent Maryhill Festival of Speed.

Look out for photos of the Amartist editors bombing hills in issue 3.

And check out Skate[Slate]

Collaborative Wallpaper Series

The first in a series of collaborative desktop wallpapers are now available to download. After each issue we’ll be collaborating with an artist/photographer to give you some shit-hot wallpapers to use. First up is Carlos NCT (fresh from his interview in Issue 2). Check out the following selection and click the links below each image to get the mega-ultra size for your desktop.

Issue 3 Content Update – Christian Stearry

Recently interviewed Toronto skater/artist/photographer Christian Stearry.

He told us of his illustrated zine and living near Lake Ontario along with other interesting jazz.
Christian on the experience: “The whole process was pretty exciting and spirit boosting! The zine is great, and I’m stoked to be posted up next to some of the other great artists you’ve got in there.”
Some of his best work and the full interview will be on show in Issue 3.

Site Unseen – Wilma The Peacock
